about

Funeral Frank is quite possibly the most unique song on Carnival Red. It's a crazy mish-mash of whistling, sensational accordion playing and mandolin along with a variety of other interesting instruments. From a lyrical perspective it's steeped in humor, irony and good old-fashioned story telling. It discusses an odd character by the name of Frank and his obsession with funerals. Again we see a minor to major switch from verse to chorus; the latter having a very bright feel to it. From a live perspective this is quite possibly Parle's most popular song and seems to always be preceded with a funny story about the song's conception.
